Bergamo, Lombardy

Our Location

The ceremony and the reception will both take place at the historic 16th-century Villa Canton, located at the foothills of the Italian Alps. There is tons to do, see and try in this beautiful region in northern Italy.

Villa Canton

Our celebration takes place at Villa Canton, a 16th-century villa surrounded by gardens and vineyards in Trescore Balneario. We can look forward to an excellent menu with locally sourced ingredients. The villa sits at the heart of the region, placed between Bergamo, Lake Iseo, and the nearby Alpine foothills.

Trescore Balneario

This town of just about ten thousand people dates back over one thousand years. It maintains a quaint, small-town feel with a simple, Italian atmosphere. You’ll find cafés, bars, and restaurants throughout the center, all within easy walking distance.

Bergamo

Just 15 minutes away, Bergamo is a city of two halves: the medieval Città Alta with cobblestone streets and sweeping views, and the lively Città Bassa full of cafés and shops. It’s a UNESCO World Heritage site and a great place to explore. Click here for more.

Lake Iseo

A short drive from Bergamo, Lake Iseo is often called a hidden gem of Lombardy. Smaller and quieter than Como or Garda, it has the same alpine beauty without the crowds. You can take a boat to Monte Isola, stroll the lakeside towns, taste sparkling wines from the nearby Franciacorta region, or enjoy a simple meal of fresh fish by the water. Click here for more.

Farms

The surrounding area is also known for its agrotourism. You can visit traditional farmhouses, their vineyards and olive groves, or enjoy meals prepared with ingredients grown right on site. It’s a great way to experience the local culture and slower pace of rural Lombardy. Visit, for instance, this farm.

Bergamasque Alps

North of Bergamo lie the Bergamasque Alps, the foothills of the Italian Alps. The area is known for its green valleys, rocky peaks, and traditional mountain villages. It’s easy to visit for a day trip: you can take a walk on marked trails, ride a cable car to a viewpoint, or stop in a local rifugio for a simple meal with great views of the region. Switzerland

Just north of Italy lies Switzerland—Miryam’s home country—with pristine lakes, incredible mountain landscapes, and beautiful towns. Zurich is only a 3.5-hour train ride away (around $60). We definitely recommend visiting if you can. It will be worth your time! Visit here for more.
